I.M. Rob Rehorst.

Afgelopen Zaterdagnacht is op 45-jarige leeftijd de Haagse producer Rob Rehorst overleden.

Hierbij wensen wij de familie en vrienden van Rob veel sterkte toe.

Rob Rehorst heeft veel voor ons betekend. Hij is de man die achter de mengtafel zat toen wij voor het eerst de studio indoken. In zijn studio, Hollandspoor Studio's, hebben we een leuke en leerzame tijd gehad. Deze tijd, en Rob zelf, zullen wij nooit vergeten.

Broshim have recently participated in a student-project of the SAE-college in Amsterdam. The SAE is a college for audio-technicians. Last sunday the band spent some time recording in the studio of the SAE-college. The result of this, a demo of INVINCIBLE, can soon be heard/downloaded on this site! Because this collaboration was a succes, Broshim will probably be offering their musical talents to SAE-students more often.

The band was very surprised when they found out that the Wall of Fame-demo reached number 11 (The second-highest new entry!!) in the "Lowlands 25" at www.popinstituut.nl.

It seems that a lot of people voted for Broshim. So if you'd like to see Broshim at the top of the chart, then VOTE NOW at popinstituut.nl. Enter the subject "Lowlands Top 25" followed by "Broshim" and "Wall of fame" and press "submit".

August 22nd, 2002

Broshim have decided to take some time off to write new material and find some renewed inspiration. Because of this, the band will not be performing untill January next year. The first sceduled performance for the new year has allready been confirmed; The Beachbattle-contest (Saturnus/Scheveningen) on Saturday the 25th of January (2003).

July 25th, 2002

Upcoming Saturday Broshim will play at the Plein Open Festival (The Hague). There will be performances from bands like Willow, Lianan Shee, Instant Mix, Backfire, Baggabownz and more! The festival will start at about 12:00 and Broshim is sceduled to perform between 12:45 and 13:15! The weatherforecast looks great, so don't miss it!!

Last saturday Broshim played at the Kleine Kunst (Leidschendam). The show was great. "Headliners" BOO! really impressed Broshim with their weird, yet very cool style of music... Check out their really great website at www.boolive.com

July 11th, 2002

Broshim will not play at the "Soul" this Saturday (13th of july), the show has been cancelled.

Read the june/july edition of "Stork On Stage Magazine" for a review of "Wall of Fame" and an article about the Blue Skies Ahead Compilation. Or you can check Gigs/reviews.

New gigs have been added; on july 13th Broshim will play at the Soul Beachclub and on Friday the 4th of October you can watch Broshim as a supporting act of Ma-china at the Bazart (The Hague). See Gigs for more info!

Don't miss the "Blue Skies Ahead" presentation at the Paap upcoming Tuesday. Thursday the 11th of july the band plays in The Volta (Amsterdam) and last but not least.. Broshim plays at "Plein Open Festival" on Saturday july 27th !!

June 18th, 2002

Unexpectedly Broshim played at the Paard op Hol yesterday. Originally Mike and the Mellowtones would have played, but they had to cancel. Broshim's performance has been recorded and will be broadcasted upcoming Friday on Radio West (Popstad 12). The broadcast will be between 22:00 and 23:00 on frequency 88.4 FM.

June 2nd, 2002

Unfortunately Broshim did not win the finals for this years Schollenpop. The weather was great and Broshim gave it their best shot, but the jury voted 'Starbuck' as the winners! Regardless to their loss Broshim did kick ass at KADEROCK! It was a great show and they would like to thank the crowd (and Gerard van den IJssel) for their enthousiasm!!

The next performance of Broshim wil be on june 13th, at The Stairway to Heaven.

Marten en Stefan performed on the Essent-stage at Pinkpop! Assisted by André Kemp (former Kane, Anouk) on drums and a bassplayer, the guys played an improvised version of Center of Attention.
Although Jan Douwe Kroeske announced "Broshim" as "Toshiba", it was an experience they will never forget!!

May 12th, 2002

Bad news: Broshim did not make it through the selections of this years Waterpop. According to the Jury, they had to make a choice between Broshim and the band "Wiseguy"... Unfortunately for us, they chose "Wiseguy"... Congratulations guys!!!

Good news: If it were up to the audience to decide, Broshim would have won! Many thanks to all the fans and to all the people who have voted for Broshim! Broshim won't forget this... Thanx!!!

Broshim has been selected to play on this year's Plein Open!!! This festival will be held July the 27th, in The Hague on the Spui Plein. More details to come.

Further news:
Broshim has a new link on the boogo band site. The band would like to invite everyone to visit this site and select Broshim. The more hits on the Broshimsite, the better. With your help they might even end up in the top 50 of boogobands.

More Gigs have been added; on the 13th of June Broshim will play at the Stairway to Heaven (Scheveningen) and on December 7th (!!) the band will play at The Trucker (Pijnacker). A gig at the AMP-Studio (Amsterdam) is also expected in June, more information about the exact date and time will follow shortly

Broshim was asked to participate in Waterproof. This is the band-competion where the winner gets the chance to play at Waterpop in Wateringen, one of the coolest festivals of the season. Therefore Broshim will play the 11th of May at Nederland 3 in Wateringen. To reach the finals Broshim needs your support this day.

More good news is that Broshim will play in Amsterdam for the first time. They will do a show at Volta the 11th of July. Check out gigs for more details, because the band promised Volta to bring a lot of fans with them.

It's official! Broshim will play as well at the finals of Schollenpopslag as Kaderock. Schollenpopslag will be at the Oude Haven in Scheveningen between 12.00 and 18.00 hours. Kaderock will start at 13.00 and Broshim will play there at 20.00 hours. So come and join the band on the first of June at Schollenpopslag and Kaderock!

YEAH! Broshim made it through the semi-finals of Schollenpopslag. Last saturday they battled with the Flesh Merchants and Point Blank for a place in the finals on June 1st. Although the competition was tough, the jury voted for Broshim. The finals will be held on a outdoor stage, located at the Oude haven in Scheveningen. This day will also be Vlaggetjesdag in Scheveningen. So lots of people and hopefully lots of sun.
An exciting day for Broshim, because they will also play at Kaderock, an outdoor festival at the Musicon in The Hagueon the same day. More news will follow how Broshim will manage to combine these two festivals.

Boohoo! Broshim did not get through the semi-finals of Vlietpopslag. Despite of a brilliant performance, the jury voted for Charing X (student-band of the year). There will be another chance next Saturday, when Broshim will participate in Schollenpopslag. So come to Duinslag and support Broshim (check out 'gigs' for more details)

A festival where Broshim will play is Kaderock, on the first of June. Another show is planned on the 30th of May, in the Boerderij. Broshim is invited by Lianan Shee, a very promising band from the Hague.

Lots of media-attention for Broshim! Last Sunday there was a radio-interview on Stadsradio with Gerard vd IJssel for Haags Pop Podium. Then there was a small article about Broshim and Vlietpopslag in the Posthoorn of wednesday. Yesterday a big article in de Haagsche Courant and there's an article coming up in the Delta (a TU Delft magazine).

Broshim will be playing the 13th of april in de Trucker as a support act of US-band Botanica. Check out GIGS for more details.

Upcoming sunday Marten and Bas will be giving an interview for Haags Poppodium. If you would like to hear what they have to say, just switch your radio to 94.0 fm Stadsradio! The time of broadcast will be between 18.00 and 20.00 hours.

Broshim recently spotted some cool promising musicians, who call themselves Vladimir. Check out www.vladimir-official.com. These guys are only 20 and already kicking ass with their Alternative Radiohead-like music.

The studio-work of the upcoming demo is done. Working at the Basement Studio was a succes and next to that it was a lot of fun. Broshim would like to thank Ernst, Bas en Tim for all their work, knowledge, cool gear and coffee.
The band is now working on the artwork of the demo so you'll still have to wait a while before you can get your hands on it. But be patient, it will be worth it.

More good news is that Broshim is invited to participate, next to Schollenpop, in the pre-selection performance of Vlietpop. Hence the band will play March 23th at Dormibella (Leidschendam). So come and support them! The better the show, the more chance they will win.
